James H. Leathem was killed on June 11, 1904 at the Bingham House stables in Clayton, DE at the hand of Edward Brown.  The event was extensively

The reader should note the variations in the spellings of "Leathem" used in these articles.  Edward Brown was tried on May 4, 1905 and was found guilty of manslaughter.  Brown was sentenced to five years in prison and fined $400.
